Position Overview:

This position will help maintain and further develop our internally developed software and SQL database. The developer will work closely with the IT Manager and / or Lead Developer to test and troubleshoot application software, and develop solutions using C# / SQL with asp.net and other relevant tools or languages. 

Status: Full Time

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: IT Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Application Support Developer will be tasked with different maintenance and development projects for all software maintained in house, including internal and external websites.  In addition, the development of SQL queries and reporting using SSRS are required.  Will perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with troubleshooting of support tickets and bug fixes.
  • Working knowledge of C#, .Net framework and LINQ.
  • Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries and familiarity with SSRS reporting.
  • Working knowledge of unit and integration testing practices and writing tests.
  • Experience using agile methodology and tools.
  • Understanding of software design patterns.
  • Experience with web development languages such as HTML, Java script, AJAX.
  • Understanding of JSON and web services.
  • Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong desire to succeed and to learn our core business to grow insight into business needs.
  • Must be flexible and willing to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Must be a team player.

Beneficial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Team City and other deployment tools and processes.
  • Understanding of insurance industry.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or computer information systems preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • 2-4 years of programming experience using C#.
  • 2-4 years of SQL experience writing queries, stored procedures, views and functions.
