Position Overview

This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of key clients assigned to them by the Vice President. The candidate that fills this position will develop sales relationships by communicating with partners, drafting proposals, presenting to partners, analyzing data for clients, launching and executing growth initiatives. This position will also be responsible for developing and leading marketing initiatives that will help build the PetFirst brand. A qualified candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to prospect, implement programs to improve current sales, marketing strategies, and relationships. Identify opportunities to create value for accounts and exceed their expectations.

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • MARKETING
    • Develop an understanding of pet insurance market.
    • Implement marketing and sales strategies.
    • Serve as the liaison between the business and strategic partners
  • SALES
    • Prospect and obtain new customers and partners by phone, email and in person meetings
    • Create and conduct effective presentations and proposals
    • Conduct phone meetings and presentations with partners as necessary
    • Acquire and maintain relationships with new and existing partnerships
    • Optimize the performance of existing partnerships
  • ADMINISTRATION
    • Support the marketing team with various day-to-day tasks
    • Manage inventory of material for conferences, tradeshows and marketing material
    • Respond to requests for material
    • Send reporting to shelter partners on a regular basis.
    • Respond to internal/external communications in a timely manner
    • Focus on and share reporting of results by shelter on a weekly and monthly basis
    • Communicate key tactics and messages to the sales and operations team
    • Will perform all other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability of managing and prioritizing a diverse set of projects
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate evolving priorities and resources
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to develop and follow a sales process that is results oriented
  • Ability to build networks and strong business relationships
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years relevant experience
