Curiosity got the best of Tucker, an 11 1/2 month…
It’s important to understand your pet’s grooming needs and what options there are available out there to fulfill them. Of course there are dog groomers for those pets with extreme grooming needs, but groomers can be pricey and if you are able to perform your pet’s grooming routine yourself it will afford you incredible bonding time. First and foremost talk to your vet find out what they recommend to keep your pet healthy and clean. Some pets may have to go to a groomer due to allergies or a thick coat that is too difficult to tame at home. Many pets will get dried out skin if they are bathed too often so it is important to understand how often bathing is recommended and ensure you do not exceed that recommendation. During warmer weather, some pets may need to have their fur trimmed to keep cool. Other pets may be chronic scratchers if their hair gets too long or they go too long without being brushed.
Grooming not only keeps your pet clean, but plays an important role in hygiene and keeping your pet happy and healthy. Make sure you know your pet, understand their needs and create a grooming regimen that you both can stick with to keep them at their best.
