Can My Dog Have a Stroke?
The prospect of your dog potentially suffering a stroke is…
After deciding to adopt Chex, an energetic and loving puppy, I also opted to activate insurance with PetFirst Pet Insurance. Just a few short months after adoption I noticed that some of Chex’s favorite playtime activities, Frisbee and Fetch!, were causing a great deal of discomfort for him at the end of the day.
Chex was becoming increasingly stiff when standing, uncomfortable at night, and having difficulty maneuvering stairs. This continued to get progressively worse every day following. The painful cries when walking led to a trip to the vet, and a diagnosis of double hip dysplasia. At the time, my concern was that Chex would be able to get the care needed to ensure he would be able to live his life pain free, while still being able to participate in all of his favorite activities. After the procedure of a complete left hip replacement, followed by three months of limited activity, I now have my happy, healthy, athletic dog back!
Filing a claim with PetFirst was easy and within a week of filing my claim I received my reimbursement check for the procedure totaling over $4,700. I am glad I made the decision to have PetFirst Pet Insurance for Chex, and very thankful for the reimbursement for my vet bills. I cannot thank PetFirst enough for the financial peace of mind for me and more importantly for a lifetime of healthy living for Chex!
