Dachshund Gunner Needs Vet Visits to Receive X-Rays & Meds for Spine Issues

When Gunner was around 1-year old I got horribly sick with the flu and was bedridden for a solid 3 days; it took all my energy to get up and feed Gunner and take him out.  Typically a rambunctious ball of energy, Gunner picked up on my exhaustion/illness and literally laid at the foot of my bed the entire time I was sick, sleeping, cuddling and all around being incredibly low-key. So out of character for him!

I share that story because after that experience (and many others) I realize that Gunner deserves the same loyalty, affection, and thoughtfulness that he provides me. I purchased PetFirst insurance for Gunner almost three years ago and within a year the plan ‘saved the day’!  Gunner -tenacious and rambunctious- had some back/spine issues that had him ‘down for the count’.  The vet bills mounted as I had to put him through X-rays, multiple vet visits and a handful of medications to treat the issue and PetFirst kept me from going broke and allowed me to seek the treatments Gunner needed without having to stress too much about cost.

Furthermore, I know as he continues to age he will likely need greater care and it puts my mind at ease knowing I won’t have to make a difficult decision solely because I cannot afford necessary treatments to maintain his quality of life!
