Vets Have to Remove Fishing Hook That’s Stuck in Scout the Beagle’s Throat

In March 2011 I was on a boat fishing with my dog Scout. Scout is a Beagle and is 8 years old.  He decided the stink bait on a treble hook smelled like something he wanted to eat.  He did eat it, hook and all.

As you can see from the x-ray, the hook stuck in his throat. Luckily it did not block his airway.  I took him to the vet to have the hook removed. $1,500 later Scout was released and to this day is a healthy Beagle. Thanks to PetFirst, I was able to afford this and the many other surgeries and repairs he has gone through.
